Linda L Boykin Biography
|
||
Inspiration is what feeds every artist's desire to create. Artist Linda L Boykin skillfully transfers her inspirations into beautiful sea and landscapes, calm florals and in-the-moment paintings filled with birds contemplating their next move, butterflies landing on a flower and people celebrating their everyday activities. Her painting style falls in between realism and impressionism, often providing just enough detail to make out the paintings objects while still allowing the viewer to fill in the rest with their own imagination. Linda’s father RX Boykin, uncle William Boykin and grandfather Judson Boykin where all well known and accomplished oil painters and were very generous in providing guidance in developing her drawing and later oil painting skills. She received art instruction at the J Everett Light Career Center in Indianapolis and also attended fashion design school at Harper College, Palatine, IL. She was a liberal arts graduate of Indiana University BA and Butler University MA. Linda is skilled with oil painting, pastels, graphite pencil drawing and frame making. She has exhibited at Sunday Art in the Park Downtown New Port Richey, the Tarpon Springs Spring Art in the Park Festival, Downtown Dunedin Fine Art Festival, St. Petersburg Fine Art Show, Hyde Park Fine Art Festival, Gallery 201 Brooksville, the Hernando Beach Front Poarch Art Walk and Art Harvest, Dunedin.
